Dr. Sarah Battistich is an emergency medicine physician and health equity leader who designs care models, and the technology behind them, for people that health systems overlook. As Medical Director at Akido Labs, she built a first-of-its-kind clinic from concept to launch, delivering intensive lifestyle medicine to professional rideshare drivers in New York City. Previously an Associate Professor at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital, she led the health system's telehealth initiative and directed the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture. Her work has taken her from post-conflict Liberia to rural hospitals across Ghana, Indonesia, and Bermuda. A board-certified emergency physician and Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity, she holds an MD from the University of Michigan and an MSc from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
