Dr. Emily Aaronson has 20+ years of healthcare experience, beginning her career in consulting, including with top health systems like the Mayo Clinic. She has served as a practicing physician and hospital administrator at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, leading teams in clinical quality, patient safety, risk management, regulatory readiness and patient relations. Since joining the Walmart Health & Wellness business three years ago, Dr. Aaronson has led the growth of quality and patient safety programs across Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies and vision centers, and established the Medical Affairs function supporting nationwide governance, and infection prevention and control. Recently, Emily added leading the Walmart Healthcare Research Institute to her growing Health & Wellness responsibilities. Dr. Aaronson holds an MD and MPH, is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and in Hospice and Palliative Care and is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. She is a published researcher, serves on national healthcare boards and has served as an Associate Editor for several academic journals.
